What's in a Fairy Tale?

Fairy Tales are interesting things. Our custom is to subdue our children with stories of the Boogeyman who will eat their toes if they don't stay in bed, or Santa Clause who only brings presents to good boys and girls. I know my parents told me all sorts of strange stories that made odd images dance through my head. My children have also heard those stories. At some point in my life I began to wonder if these stories were really just stories, or if there was any truth to them. There are several stories about brave knights in shinning armour who travel far and wide in search of vile dragons to slay with their mighty sword and maybe even save a beautiful princess in the process. If I were a dragon I would not stick around to be run through by every knight on a quest for fame. Of course they could have all been slayed and extinct. Unicorns, pixies, fairies, elves, trolls, leprechauns, gnomes, griffons, pheonix's, witches', wizards, and many other creatures that drift through our thoughts, creatures that inhabit fanciful lands, and stories we tell our children. What happened to these magical creatures that seem to hide just beyond the realm of reality?

Archeologists find bones from 60 million years ago all the time. Where are the dragon bones? Where are the griffon bones? Science tells us that they never existed and that they are only fairytales, but that does not explain how civilzations thousands of miles apart thousands of years ago all had dragons. When I was a child I had an imaginary friend that was a dragon, but I don't ever recall seeing a picture of a dragon until a few years after my parents convinced me that dragons were not real. All of this got me to thinking so me being me, I read a few books. I started with dragons of course.

There are several idea's out there about what happened to dragons. Some say that they were extinct and there are no bones because they were mostly cartilage like a shark. Others say dragons had magic and the bones turned to ash upon death. My favorite though and the one I like believe is that dragons just don't live here anymore. You see anything you read about dragons will tell you how intelligent they are, more intelligent than humans by far. To dragons the silly knights with their shiny sticks were more of an annoyance than anything. Did I mention I am not a dragon, okay, so I am not sure about this. Well the dragons somehow displaced themselves. By that I mean that they put themselves into a different plane of time than we live on. You have to remember that dragons are super intelligent and live for hundreds maybe thousands of years. They can still visit with us here in our plane of time but they are very selective as to who they visit. Can you imagine if one popped up on Ted Nugent’s door step? He would be the modern day knight with a shotgun hunting the ultimate trophy.

I watched a show one time about spacial anomalies (yeah I know that is not spelled right) on our planet. There was a scientist on there talking about fairies and elves and such and why we can't see them. He said that our brain is a lot like a radio and just like a radio it picks up on a certain radio wave or frequency. Our brains all tune in to the same frequency and we don't notice things that are not on our frequency, but every once in awhile just like that radio we loose our signal and momentarily pick up a new signal. It only last a minute or so but while we are there we see things that we later think we were just imagining. He also spoke about rips in our plane of time. He said that there are 85 of these rips scientifically charted all over our planet. If you get close to one of these rips it really knocks out your frequency and you see all kinds of things. Perhaps the biggest of these rips is located in Iceland where it is normal to see elves, and ghosts on a daily basis.

Fairies I am told are out there. You just have to know where and when to look. There was a thing on Real TV not to long ago where a woman had found two tiny corpses that were mummified. The corpses were only a few inches long but you could see almost every detail of them even the wings.
I hate it when I loose something, like my keys, the remote, jewelry. Pixies.

Witches are real. Your reading the ramblings of one right now. I however are nothing like fairytales portray. I am not Wiccan. I simply believe what I wish and if that throws me into a category with Wiccans so be it. I will add a section with more on my beliefs later, for now just know that I am not Christian, Jewish, or Muslim. Not fitting into one of these three categories makes me Pagan and I am proud. Standing outside the line of normallity is what makes me me.
While I am here I must address the pentacle. Upside right, upside down, or sideways it represents the elements, earth, air, fire, water, and spirit. There is a new movie out, I forget the name, but the pentacle is used in it to represent evil. The pentacle should not be associated with evil even though some sadistic groups use it upside down as symbol of their group. Witches' are also thought to associate with "The Devil," but that is simply not true. Witches' do not believe in an ultimate good or evil. No one is completely innocent but children and they don't stay that way long.

I don't know much about Unicorns but I would say they bred with modern day horses until they eventually lost the horn. Either that or they followed the dragons. Where ever they went you can be sure that only virgins can get near them.
Other creatures such as leprechuans and gnomes, even hobbits, what we might referr to as little people did exist. Discovery Channel has been airing a program about them recently. It seems some scientists found their remains in Indonesia (spelling:P). These scientist believe that the little people they are calling hobbits were able to travel to different places on the earth creating several of the mythical creatures in our stories today, leprechauns and gnomes amoung them.
